Below are the requirements for setting up your striking area.
Using a larger space can improve accuracy.
An open space, away from other obstacles.
The hitting mat should measure at least 2 feet (66cm) long by 2 feet (66cm) wide.
The ball should be at least 8 feet (2.4 m) from the impact screen or net.
Make sure the stickers are correctly placed on the face of your clubs.

Getting startedPlace the Approach R50 on the ground 1 or 2 feet in front of the ball so that the ball is between you and the Approach R50 and you can see the screen.
Follow the on-screen instructions to ensure that the ball is within the Approach R50's detection zone.
NOTE: A red light will appear at the bottom of the unit if the ball is outside the strike zone, and a green light when the ball is inside the strike zone.
Will I need any special tools to install my Approach R50?
No. You can use two clubs to measure a distance close to 6-8 feet (1.5 - 2 m) or use a tape measure. To find out more about settings, please refer to the “Preparing for a shot” section of your user manual.
Does the ground or surface have to be perfectly flat?
No. The Approach R50 compensates for a certain degree of inclination. If the inclination is too great, the Approach R50 will alert you on your first swing.
